Budens is one of the largest parishes of the municipality, covering the localities of Burgau, Salema (popular tourist destinations), Vale de Boi, Budens and Figueira.

Budens is still a rural town, which has undergone further development in recent years given the tourism growth of the region, which for several decades was more guarded from the large tourist masses.

The quiet parish of Budens with its typical Algarvian house target of Moorish influence, is proud of its Church of St. Sebastian, of the sixteenth century and of a single nave, and of the Forts belonging to its territory, such as the Boca do Rio (or São Luís de Almádena) and the Burgau.
